Insta360 has launched a fairly significant update for the Insta360 ONE R, which includes image quality improvements, AI- powered editing options, some new features and a new remote.

Making the camera even better for shooting action footage, the update adds horizon levelling to both 4K mod and the 1 inch mod. The horizon lock helps keep the footage in level while shooting in pro mode at 30 Frames per second. Along with that, the camera also allows full rotation levelling along a single axis, with its 360 degree Horizon lock.

The update includes another feature called Loop Recording, which enables continuous video recording for a length of maximum 30 minutes. This feature keeps deleting the older footage to allow the camera to record without stopping. The camera, with these additions can now be used as a dash cam that can be set in any location and all one has to do is wait for the action to happen.

Additionally, the update also includes 2 Shot Lab templates which add to the smart editing templates of the Insta360 app. The update also allows for 4K at 50 FPS and features a new ‘Vivid color Profile’ along with 4 image sharpness options for all the ONE R mods.

Another interesting feature that has been included in the camera is the Car MultiView, which displays the car’s interior and the road ahead in a split screen. The camera, now also has the enhanced AquaVision 2.0, improved to make the colors look more realistic and vibrant underwater. This version is available for all the ONE R mods (including 360mod).

Additionally, some remarkable camera improvements are: An improved audio recorded with an external mic; TimeShift videos being already sped up by 6x before being saved, thus taking much less space; a new roadie remote and a Bluetooth remote that attaches to the car’s steering wheel for a safe and efficient control.

All these upgrades are available through Insta360 app, ONE R firmware and the Studio desktop software.
